England’s Jordan Nobbs set to miss Women’s World Cup after ACL tear

LONDON — England could be without one of its key players for the Women's World Cup next year after playmaker Jordan Nobbs ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee.
Nobbs, England's player of the year in 2016, was injured while playing for Arsenal against Everton in the Women's Super League on Sunday.
"Everyone at the club wishes Jordan a speedy recovery and will give their full support in her journey back to full fitness," an Arsenal statement read.
